Bots

This article is about a discord bot that a few friends made a while ago- a collab project. It was a fun project, and I'd like to share it :)

So. Bots! They're artificial users that act as real ones, whether they are stimulating a real job, or just having fun with users.

The image on the right (without the antennae) is the logo of discord, which is an easy-to-use communication platform, with different servers, each having different channels to talk in. They can be announcement channels, voice calls, pure text channels, etc.

So on discord, there are a lot of these users with a blue-ish bot tag. These bots are all controlled with code- they scan your messages, and see if there's anything they want to reply to.
Some servers are in great need of moderation (school servers), and they just need a bot to help when the moderators are online. Many bots that claim to be able to do this don't quite make the cut, so we decided

This bot we made mimicks a school online security system (securly), but it's for monitoring discord messages instead of kids search histories. Maybe someday I'll make another article explaining on why we hated the online child-monitoring system (securly), but this bot basically was created in a bout of satire. As it gradually became more complicated, it went from a securly-mocking project to a half-troll, half-securly-like bot. More info can be found HERE :)

(There's also this other bot called spammybot. It's mainly a project from a while ago that I never really finished... I could still add a lot of things, but I think I'll just leave it as is :) to invite the second bot)
